The following leading medical consultants carry out consultations at the Broadgate Spine & Joint Clinic:

Dr Ian Beasley, Consultant Sports Medicine Specialist - sports injuries

Dr Beasley qualified from St Bartholomews Hospital, London in 1982. He won a scholarship tp study Sports Medicine, gaining a diploma in 1987. He worked at various football clubs and was appointed as team physician of Arsenal Football Club in 2002. He is also the medical advisor to the Royal Ballet Company, Covent Gardens. He is a founding fellow of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine. In conjunction with the other members of our experienced staff at the Broadgate Spine & Joint Clinic a superior service in the diagnosis and treatment of sports related injuries is provided.

Mr Fares Haddad, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon - hip/knee problems

Mr Haddad is a hip and knee Reconstructive Surgeon and University College, London, The Princess Grace and Wellington Hospitals. He is also an Honorary Lecturer at the Institue of Orthopaedics, Univesity College London. After qualifying as a fellow he continued his studies in both Canada and the USA. He has been awarded a large number of academic prizes and awards. He is Clinic Director of the Orthopaedic Treatment Centre at University College and Research Lead for Orthopaedics. He sits on the editorial board of several leading medical journals. He joined the Broadgate Spine and Joint Clinic in 2006. 

Dr Gerard Hall, Consultant Rheumatologist - general rheumatology.

Dr Hall is a Consultant Rheumatologist and general physician. He is an NHS Consultant at the Royal London Hospital and has a private practice at Princess Grace Hospital, 30 Devonshire Street and the Broadgate Spine & Joint Clinic. He trained at Middelsex and St Bartolomew's Hospitals. He has published extensively particularly in the area of osteoporosis. His specialist interest are inflammatory joint problems, soft-tissue rheumatism, spinal pain and ostoporosis.Dr Hall is a founding Director of the Broadgate Spine & Joint Clinic.

Mr Peter Hamlyn, Consultant Spine and Neurosurgeon - spinal conditons

Mr Peter Hamlyn is a Consultant and Neurological Spinal Surgeon to the St Bartolomew's and Royal London NHS Trust. He is Vice Chairman of the UK Brain and Spine Foundation. Since 2002 he has been Director of the Sports and Exercise Medicine at the Queen Mary, University of London. Mr Hamlyn has published extensively including both text books and scientific papers. Mr Hamlyn was actively involved as a medical advisor for the successful London bid for the 2112 Olympics. Mr Hamlyn is a founding director of the Broadgate Spine and Joint Clinic.

Dr J N A Royds, Consultant Psychiatrist - stress management

Dr Royds is Senior Consultant Psychiatrist with experience both in the NHS and the private sector. He qualified at the University of Cape Town in 1976 and began his career as a General Practitioner. He completed his specialist studies in Psychiatry in 1991. He was appointed Royal College Tutor and Director of Medical Education in East Kent Community, NHS Trust. Dr Royds is a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, Fellow of the Faculty of Psychiatry in South Africa and Honorary Lecturer at Kent Institute of Medical & Health Sciences. He has a special interest in depression, anxiety disorders, stress related disorders and occupational stress. He joined the Broadgate Spine and Joint Clinic in 2006.  

Mr Lloyd Williams - Consultant Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon

Mr Williams qualified from St. Bartholomew's Medical College in 1986 and became Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to University College and Middlesex Hospitals in 1996. He was Orthpaedic Surgeon to Saracens RFC 1996-2001 and is currently Orthopaedic Surgeon to The Royal Ballet Company, The English National Ballet and Central Ballet School . Mr Williams' clinical interests include sports and dance injuries, forefoot reconstruction and joint replacement in the foot and ankle. He is in full-time private practice and also consults at 30 Devonshire Street. He operates at The Princess Grace Hospital.

Mr Brian Cohen – Consultant Orthopaedic Upper Limb Surgeon

Mr Cohen qualified from the Royal London Hospital in 1982. He completed his surgical training in orthopaedics in London and Cambridge. In 1996 he was appointed a Consultant in Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery at The University College and the Middlesex Hospitals, London . Mr Cohen's major interests lie in arthroscopic shoulder surgery, upper limb surgery and hand surgery. In 2004 he left the NHS and is now in full-time private practice.
